Describe an interesting animal.
You should say:
What animal it is, where it lives (or, you have seen it)
What it looks like,
And explain your feelings about this animal.
范文1:
Tibetan antelope(藏羚羊) is a kind of animal that only lives in China. I first learned it from the geography textbook in secondary school. It said Tibetan antelope is an ancient, endangered and protected animal in China.
The Tibetan antelope looks different from other antelopes. It has stronger body and longer horns. The color of the back is brown and the color of other parts is ashen. Just as you can learn from its name, it only lives in the Tibet Plateau. So it is hardly for us to see it personally.
There are only 70-100 thousand Tibetan antelopes living in China. To protect them, Chinese engineers built many extra bridges to bypass their habitat when they were constructing Qinghai-Tibetan Highway. I think the situation of Tibetan antelope is worth our concern. Everything can be done should be done to preserve the precious species. Otherwise it will become the second Panda.
Just as every Chinese person, I like it very much because I think it is the pride of our China.
范文2:
An interesting wild animal from my country is the Giant Panda. Giant Pandas live in the jungle, but my experience seeing and learning about pandas has been at the Beijing Zoo, where there is a nice exhibit dedicated to pandas. As most people know, they are black and white in color, usually with large black patches on their eyes. Their diet consists almost entirely of bamboo, which I find especially interesting. However, although many people love pandas because they look so cute, they are still bears and can be ferocious creatures. While the dragon is historically significant as a symbol of China, the Giant Panda is also important as a cultural icon.
范文3:
I found there was a bat nest in my balcony recently, and one night I happened to see they flew across the patio under our apartment and hover in the sky. I was shocked, because it was dark outside but they knew exactly where to go without mistakes. Moreover, they went out only at night.
I thought bats are interesting not because they can fly in the dark since I know they are nocturnal animals. I always think the ability which aids bats fly and prey capture is their unusual eye-sight, like another nocturnal animal, owls. But the truth is because of their echolocation. Bat echolocation is a perceptual system where ultrasonic sounds are emitted specifically to produce echoes. By comparing the outgoing pulse with the returning echoes the brain and auditory nervous system can produce detailed images of the bat's surroundings. This allows bats to detect, localize and even classify their prey in complete darkness.
