Some people believe rich countries and international organizations should give other types of help to poor countries rather than financial aid. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
According to the opinion of some people, there are quite different attitudes toward the help which were offered by rich countries to poor countries. Some claim that rich countries should help poor countries in various ways rather than financial aid. For my perspective, I support with this point of view for the following reasons.
[It is generally agreed that rich countries should help poor countries, but it is worthy of doubt whether financial aid is the right way to better benefit the less fortunate nations. In my opinion, while relief funds should continue, there are probably other ways more effective, perhaps even more noble, to reduce their poverty and miserable conditions.]
The first and foremost one is that people know nothing about dealing with their financial burden because of the low level of education. Take China for example, in most poor countries, the average highest educational level is elementary school. Hence, education aid always more significant than financial aid, we can learn this from the Chinese old saying people the way of fishing is better than give them fish. "
Before anything else, it is essential to also study in depth other problems facing each country on the aid list, apart from the common headache of financial stress. Take education, for example. It would be so much practical to introduce basic kinds of useful skills to uneducated people to make a living on their own. Money to be spent on education will certainly make success happen to some degree. Says a Chinese quote: "it makes more sense teaching the hungry how to fish than just give them fish to eat."
My second reason is that technology support can solve some troubles which money can not resolve. The basic triggers of poor are too weak technology power to create an industry to earn money. Provided that the native citizens know a kind of technology well, they would have more wealth though using their technology even have their own career or business . As a consequently, technology support could deal with the long time problems, while the financial aid just could solve the short time problem.
Along with the issue of education comes a new challenge to poor countries that are falling far behind in new technology. Gradual transference of industrial and IT technologies is more about making money on a long-term basis than simply asking rich nations to provide cash money whose whereabouts remains often doubtful because of either ineffective administrations or downright corruptions or both.
Finally, it seems to be true that provide the poor area the financial support because the money can deal with their economic difficulties directly and efficiency. However, I disagree about this option and I believe that more direct financial support would lead more people in poor would rely on the money aid. After long time, they will become lazy to find out the ways to leave the poor situation by themselves.
Altogether the situation of some countries in extreme poverty seems to reveal that shortage of financial resources is by far the No. 1 problem. However, as judged from experiences of the past years, money should not be the only solution, although it certainly could make a difference. In view of this, governments of developed countries should not only keep on giving financial assistance, but must also see to it that donated money be used effectively and prudently.
All in all, there are numerous reasons trigger off poor. In fact, poor countries or citizens not lack of money but lack of methods to making money. I firmly believe that although economic aid is a necessary way, it still would not deal with the basic problems of poor. So wealthy countries and organizations should help poor area for various ways.
