>Nowadays, both scientists and tourists can go to remote natural environments such as the South Pole.  Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

Today, scientific advancements have allowed people to travel to all corners of the world.  In fact, tourists are making pilgrimages to areas as unforgiving as the South Pole.  It is argued that this growth in humanity's ability to traverse the globe carries with it more advantages than disadvantages.  This will be proven by looking at how this trend leads to new scientific discoveries and greater environmental understanding.

For one, humanity's increased ability to travel has led, and will continue to lead, to new scientific breakthroughs.  For example, the only reason the world has been enlightened of the pending dangers associated with global warming is because of measurements scientists have made of the melting polar ice caps.  Testing in this northern region would obviously not have been possible were scientists unable to voyage there.  Thus, it is clear why the capability of travel poses more advantages than disadvantages to humanity.

In addition to this, allowing people to travel to remote places benefits the environmental understanding of humanity as a whole.  For example, school kids in Canada often have the opportunity to travel to the country's arctic regions to obtain some first hand experience on how human activity is damaging the environment.  Being able to see these issues in person really helps these young people grow as individuals who comprehend the need for balance between human existence and the environment.  This is yet another reason why the human race's growing ability to travel should be seen as a development that ramifies more advantages than disadvantages.

Following this look at how travel capabilities lead to scientific discoveries and an overall deeper understanding of the environment, it has been proven that traversing to remote areas of the world presents more pros than cons.  It is thus hoped future generations are increasingly given opportunities to tour the world.
