Many shops work 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Some people see it as a good idea, while others don't. Compare different views of customers, shop workers and the whole society of this subject and give your opinion.

It is out of question that majority shops not open whole day but maybe total a week. However, a number of shops which work 24 hours a day not just 7days a week, somehow, appeared in public. This kind of business model is evaluated by people from all walks of life. Nevertheless, hardly can consumers, shop staffs and other business critics reach a consensus on the issue that whether the existence of 24/7 stores can benefit the majority groups.

In one respect, a sizable number of customers tend to prove that folks demand the convenience stores, since they can provide varying shopping service for the inhabitants who live around them, such as simple and easy food for laborious workers missing dinner, cigarette for smokers staying up, baby diaper for careless younger parents and even condom for anxious lovers. Besides, a part of business critics also try to convince the public with several studies and much data that this type of business operation pattern not only fulfill the consumers’ requirement but also increase the income, as a matter of fact, numerous residents constantly visit the convenience stores at midnight.

In another, their opponents, for instance some of shop staffs, are inclined to the viewpoint that stores should not open all day and all week, which maybe not only encroaches upon the right of rest but reduces the security of shops particularly at midnight or before drawn when robbers and thieves haunted. Also, accumulating evidence shows that the sale proceeds of 24h stores during the extra shopping time, even the international multiple shops such as the McDonald or the KFC, is the minimum rate in their general income especially in certain remote or underpopulation district.

On balance, the above analysis implies that 24/7 stores obviously cause a mixture of feeling amongst the consumers, shop workers and other business critics. Nonetheless, we might as well strike a balance between the opposing opinions by adopting an elastic strategy. For example, more reasonable worker schedule can be arranged and give the staffs enough rest time after night shift; the stores located remote and underpopulation area can be integrated so that can reduce the economic and human input and strengthen the safety system. After all, any shops which want sustainable development should give consideration to the social benefits and economic benefits.
