题目 | The diagrams below show the amount of energy lost in 100 units when it is generated from black coal and when it is generated from brown coal. |
范文 | The diagrams present how 100 units of energy lost when it is produced from black coal and brown coal.
It can be seen from the first diagram that in the beginning black coal that can generate 100 units of energy is transported to the power station where electricity is produced. During the process, 68 units is lost so only 32 units of energy remains. Before consumers get the energy from black coal, the loss of another 3 units occurs as it is distributed and transmitted.
Referring to brown coal, when it is used in the electricity generation, more units was lost (73 units) while the amount of energy lose in the stage of distribution and transmission is the same as that in black coal. Finally, the remaining 24 units of energy is gained by people.
In conclusion, it is noticeable that less energy can be available for consumers if brown coal is applied to generate electricity. |

| Nowadays more and more people are using cellphones and computers to communicate, so they are losing the ability to communicate with each other face to face. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the statement? |
范文 | Modern technology revolutionizes people’s ways of communication. Some people advocate that the wide use of high-tech communication equipment such as cell phones and computers impairs individual ability of face-to-face communication. As far as I am concerned, the masses are likely to lose interpersonal skills in the real world if they get addicted to this commutation method.
Firstly, it is obvious that communication technology removes the opportunities of real-world socialization. People today mainly rely on search engines like Google for information acquirement, instead of people. Consequently, there are much less interpersonal communications in daily life such as question-and answer conversations, discussion and arguments between students and teachers, between colleagues and even between children and parents.
In addition, it is also recognized that communicating via cell phones and computers makes people deficient in face-to-face communication lies on the fact that it decreased the dimension of socialization. For example, the online communication space is very flat since the majority of messages exchanged in social networking like Facebook, Twitter and text are only on verbal level. However, other non-verbal levels of interpersonal skills such as body language and social psychology are totally invalid and then ignored, making people incompetent and unskilled when talking with others face to face.
However, there is no denying that participants’ sincereness and form of atmosphere when people hold a conversation cannot be expected from a phone call or online chatting. Admittedly, a contract between firms cannot be signed without rounds of negotiations and bargains; a couple falling in love are by no means satisfied with voice calls.
In conclusion, the separation between people is undeniable in terms of the fact that it eliminates the possibility of face-to-face and emotional communication as well as failure to train the practical interpersonal skills supposing that they excessively depend on communication tools. |
